Total Rip Off

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I got a call to visit Sundance vacations, after-winning a entry form I filled up at a country fair. After hearing a presentation which lasted 3 hours we decided not to go with their marketing strategy, where you pay upfront for vacation days and then you pay at the time of booking, monthly fee, yearly fee, customer service fee. Sounds awful. Well they gave a vacation voucher for Go crv.com with four round-trip tickets, hotel stay for 3 nights and a theme park tickets for a day for 4 people. They took $240 advance which will be adjusted afterwords. Now you need to understand that they have regular package and upgraded package. Regular package gas flights which are like 2-3 hours far from your home, Bad time flights, bad hotels which are far. For upgraded package you pay minimum $750 on top of $240. So for vacation voucher will cost you more than the regular flight and hotel you get from any travel sites. Now if you do mistake to advance with them to avoid problems of refund, you take upgraded package they will book you cheapest flights where you end up paying for carry-on too. Total waste of time and money. And whenever you call them the minimum wait time is 30 minutes. So the whole experience is so traumatic. God knows what else I have to face.

I never fall for those "you've been chosen for a giveaway" scams but I am now the fool. Long story short, I booked the "free" vacation after being told the most I would pay was $149pp in taxes and fees.

The taxes and fees have all of a sudden increased to $279pp! This includes the $50pp "upgrade" from a 3 star hotel to a 3 star hotel and a $200 travel credit. Expect the worst of everything! Hotel, airline, flight times even with the upgrade.

Now that I've booked the nonrefundable vacation and discovered all of these extra fees I am forced to go on the vacation or I am out over $1k! Horrible company that I will never deal with again!

So This Just Happened To Me And As I Went To Get My "FREE VACATION" They Try Getting You To Buy PACKAGES. So as I was reading these complaints I called to tell them I wanted to cancel and she said no just wait I could cut the price in half I said no I will contact an attorney if it's not cancelled or if you take any money out of my bank account and she hung up on me so what do I do now?

Guest

I wish I read this first. I just paid my fee of $249 for a cruise to Fl or Las Vegas. Should I continue or cut my losses???

Just expect to pay baggage fees and room fees on top of your $249.

Just got a call from this company stating I won a free trip! So when I called they told me I had to go there to claim my prize in person. I had to do it this week! Sounds fishy free! After reading all the reviews I will not be claiming my free TRIP! Thank you for all the info. I truly hope people will not keep getting scammed from this company!

Over $6622.40 and not one vacation in 5 years

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

first was never told about a $33.80 monthly maintenance fee that started after the 1st year. Then if they also forgot to mention there is a $369 for each week vacation to cover fees and taxes.

total loss $6622.40 and they also informed me the monthly fees will still be collected till I use up the 10 one week vacations. they either had nothing near the places I wasted to go or it was too far away. I asked if they have vacation spots in the caribbean, they said happily a few places there. We went to trinidad and tabago to visit her friends and family only to find the air condition was not working so I called sundance and they informed me they have places in the caribbean but not in trinidad.

A year later we decided to go to Niagra Falls for a week. So we called an they said year we have something there. So we said we`ll get ready and call for the information. 2 days later called back and they informed us they have a place there but it`s 3 hour drive away.

So you think I want to drive 3 hours each way, use a whole tank of gas and only be able to spend a few hours only to have to drive 3 hours back to the room.

I called back a week later to complain and was told I never called them and they keep records of every phone call received. Bull !

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Got sucked into this vacation plan in 2014 and then upgraded to the vip where you can do 3 or 4 day vacations instead of a week, thinking that might help with being able to schedule a vacation, didn't help. Have yet to book a vacation, as nothing is available when I am able to go and the additional fees are ridiculous.

Come to find out they are TAN and Sundance are 2 different companies. I have no login information for Sundance to see how much I have paid so far, and so far have gotten nowhere with finding a contact.

At this point I don't want my money back I just want out and not to have more money taken out. I am a single Mom and this is a hardship on me.

Hello, I recently had a conversation with Sundance Vacation (Travel Advantage Network) on the phone and they informed me that there is a process for contract (and maintenance fee payments) to be assumed/taken over by another person. Give me a call when you have a chance at 330-701-****. -Jason, navynuke@***.com

Good and Bad

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

So I apparently was gifted a trip, went in and spent 2 hrs on site. Said no, no, no to their packages, left with a fire tablet and my certificate for the trip.

Within 60 days I put down the 200 deposit. I was told we would fly best airline and stay in their best rooms because they would want us to be return customers. Few months later booked our trip. I decided I wanted to extend my time in Vegas so bumped it up to 4 nights.

Had to pay an additional 487 on top of the 200 to make it happen. (Looked it up later on and it turns out I could of booked my own trip for same price lol) oh well. Good incentives is I would get a voucher to get 150 bucks on money spent here as long as I keep receipts. Ok great.

So I get here to Vegas and had to go to the welcome center to get the room voucher. Went over and I’m told I have to sit through ANOTHER presentation!!! During our trip!!! So we went with it and spent 4 hrs total on it.

In return however we were given $200 cash and 2 tickets for blue Man group show and $175 on eating vouchers at restaurants plus a voucher for 2 night free stay at the hotel. I feel like the second sit in was more worth it then the Sundance one. It allowed me to save $$ and recoup some of the money spent. My frustration comes from them not telling us this is what was going to happen which highly frustrated me.

All in all have my vacation. Currently still on it.

Just thankful I didn’t have anything booked as far as shows. So if you do use Sundance vacations ask them if you have to do another sit through!!!

WOW! ANOTHER Presentation DURING the trip???

I know many of us were probably patient and kind with our declines during the first presentation at SunDance, but should we be surprised with more reps and closers after we've recieved the prize, left the office, went through the 60+ day registration wait/process, boarded a plane and arrive.....

I feel like a hard, stern, interrupting no is warranted. How misleading !!!

What hotel in Vegas did you stay at for this offer

Terrible! These people are unbelievable

False promises, waste of time! Now we are trying to use the "free vacation" voucher and the motel we are supposed to stay at has TERRIBLE reviews.

I cannot even reach them on the phone. We had wanted to go to Florida, but don't want to waste our time or money on this Sundance Vacation Bull........!

YOu should be ashamed to work for a company like this!

They promise you so much, but as time goes on, you realize that the quality of what they offer is horrible. Thankful, I didn't cave in to buying anything from these "people"

I don't want to waste anymore of my time on this.

Won a free vacation at Six Flags which we’ve also had an issue with canceling their membership. But anyways, we got a call for a free vacation, sat through a long seminar with this wannabe guru with this fake chipper personality. The worst. We then get pressured for 2 hours to get a package. Each time we say no, they drop the rate. We finally say yes to a low rate so we can leave. The place is bright and over flooded with people. It’s miserable. They assure us we can cancel anytime, which we did. We haven’t used this at all. All they do is call talking about how we have a “delinquent account” and outstanding balance.. this place is a scam. No integrity to costumers. The only reason they have half these sales is the low lives that WONT TAKE NO FOR AN ANSWER. We honestly should’ve just left!

You can get out

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I was young and naive when I signed up for a vacation package through Sundance. After watching the presentation and being coerced to buy a package totaling $5,000, I immediately felt ill and intuitively knew this was a scam.

The free vacation was non-existent as they lied that I had not registered in time, although I had accessed the site daily and it was non-functioning. After 2 withdrawls from my checking account, I called and requested a mailed invoice with apporopriate return postage if they wished to receive payment. They continued to state that they did not send invoices nor accept anything but credit/debit cards. I changed bank accounts and my debit card that day and wrote them a letter stating that the BBB would he contacted as well as the Attorney General.

They called within a few days stating that they would close my account and that there was no remaining balance nor ill mark.

How ironic that a week prior they stated that cancellation was not a consideration under any circumstance hahah. Get out now, ignore the threats, and recognize that some people will go to great lengths to scam people.

Since, December 2017, calls and then a letter from my attorney demanding my membership be terminated were ignored by Sundance Vacations and their bank, Tri-State Financial. So, now, I am appealing to my fellow unhappy consumers. ....................

Win or buy in?

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Won vacation, just have to listen to info. After listening they present a buy in.

3o wks. vaca for $20.000. Another person goes over again. Pat in full, or 3000.00 down+ 84 monthly installments and yearly mantance fee.

Said we needed more information about the company. Before we would invest. Man was so irate and extremely nasty. I became afraid.

So we decided to leave. We tried to leave and they stopped us insisted we take the free vaca. We said no thanks. And they tried to stop us and refused to give our info back!

Scary situation, check bbb for your safety and credit. Protect yourself!

Worst Experience for a “free” trip

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Sundance Vacation, Take A Break Travel, Customer Service Network are all part of the same group in which I had a terrible experience with. I was originally called to be informed that I had won a “free” trip and a fire kindle and I would be able to pick up these prizes at a location in NJ.

I went, only to sit in a presentation about wholeshare time shares. Needless to say, I wasted the whole morning listening to wholesale timeshares along with 5 rounds of salesman trying to sell us the timeshares. They were so persistent in asking so many financial questions even though we told them that we could not afford a timeshare. After all of that I had recieved the prize and the vacation to much of their dismay.

When I tried to book the vacation, it was such a hassle since I was on hold for one and a half hours waiting to speak to a representative. This “free” trip was definitely not free at all. I had to pay $198.00 for a “refundable” deposit that they claim to hold until the trip was complete. With the booking, I had to book the flight out of state, in a city that was 1 hour away from where I lived.

We had to fly spirit airlines, which did not even include any baggage with the plane tickets. There were many blackout dates and only limited us to certain dates for travel. They didnt give many choices on the hotels and even made us pay an extra $242.00 to complete the booking. That’s already almost $500.00 that we are spending on this “free” trip!!

Once we arrived at our destination, the experience was completely horrible. In order to get our hotel room, we had to meet the agents from “Take a Break Travel” who made us fill out questionaires about our job titles and income, and informed us that another tour for time shares was mandatory. Why is the questionaire necessary?? When we didn’t fill it out, they insisted that we did to ensure that we were viable candidates to purchase timeshares.

Also, they claimed that we would get more prizes for filling out the questionaire and attending the tours. We voiced that we were not interested in going on anymore tours, attending any more presentations, or recieving anymore prizes, and he rudely stated that it was MANDATORY for us to go or we will be fined with fees from the hotel. We asked what fees since we had already paid $500 for the trip, as well as $140 in resort fees that they failed to mention to us prior to the vacation. The manager David was so rude and unprofessional that he stated that he will inform the original booking agent that we refuse to go on the 5 hour tour and that we will be charged with fees.

Completely ridculous!!! After leaving the area, we were hounded by multiple agents from Take A Break travel insisting us about signing up and getting free vacations from them. This company and their associates are all scammers!!!! If you ever run into the above listed companies, I would highly advise you to stay away from them.

All they want is your money. We later found out that the actual room price is $27 per night!!!!! We could’ve gotten a better flight flying out of the state that we lived in, a better room at a better hotel, and a cheaper price than we had paid for.

This was completely stressful for the short amount of time that we would have here. It is a complete waste of time and not worth the stress!!

A Scam!!!

My wife and I sat through a 2 hour presentation and was promised a trip with round trip airfare and 3 nights hotel stay with tickets to Disney World.

I did everything I was told to do, gave my two different dates 45 days ago, 30 days apart, and today I was told that they cannot give me the trip.

What a joke. I am going to spread the word about Sundance to all my colleagues and friends if I am not reciprocated for this travesty!!

I was told over and over by 4 different people during the time I spent at the King of Prussia Sundance location that I am guaranteed this trip and that it is not a scam, but just as I feared, it was. Sad, frustrated, and very angry.

Buyer beware.

5/2018 almost 5 years and I have 3 more monthly payments to finish paying off a $5000.00 sundace loan for 10 1 week vacations. Every time I called for a place I wanted to go they either had nothing in the area or had a place hours away from the location I wanted. I called multiple time for multiple vacations. To date ive had no vacations from them. I was miss lead to believe they had spots in all the places I requested. Niagra falls sure, three hours away but. So a full tank of gas and 6 hours to get to and from the falls. Driving all day not my idear of fun so I opt out. The Caribbean, yes they have place there. Non in trinidad or tabago where we wanted to go. After talking too the woman last month she told me they record all inquires but have NO records or recordings of any of my vacation request non? Covering there tracks I guess. Gonna have my lawyer sue them for theb $5000.00 and after the first year they charge a $38 monthy fee? $1848 Best advice you'll ever get is don't even talk with them.
