We knew what we were getting into after we received the "you won a Free cruise" phone call. But we still decided to listen to the hour long program and the pitch for us to buy the vacation program.

The pitch was not hard core which we appreciated and for what it is worth, if you are avid travelers and vacation ALOT - this may be a good idea. Think of it like the Costco of Vacations. However we were not financially able to plop down money or take on more monthly payments so we politely said no to all of their offers.

But we still were getting a free cruise - so I was excited about that. Until I get on the phone at reservation time only to find out that NOTHING is free. We were aware of the taxes and fees that we would have to pay - and that was cool. But unless you want a cabin with bunk beds and you are OK with traveling when they tell you and you are ok with paying for a hotel the night before the cruise and night after the cruise returns and paying for transfers to and from port and hotel …all which adds up to almost an additional $250 pp...then this is the incentive for you.

I ended up canceling our free voucher for a cruise knowing that I could book a cruise for less than $250 a person and fly as cheap as $100 roundtrip and PICK the dates and flights that work best for me.

Not too mention I spent over an hour on the phone with the reservation people...25 minutes on hold waiting for a representative and another 45 minutes of them trying to get reservations.

Bottom line- take it with a grain of salt....they will try to make it as inconvenient as possible so you will make upgrades and forget that you are slowly but surely spending almost a $800-$1000 on your so-called FREE cruise!

I'm the former Director of Marketing for Travel Advantage Network (TAN). TAN is the company that provides the "vacations" that Sundance Vacations sells. The two companies are separate in name only.

They DO NOT explain the full details when they are selling it. For example, they tell you there are seasonality fees, but they don't tell you HOW OFTEN they'll be required. They will NEVER show you a complete list of their properties before you sign their contract, which they will fight you to cancel once you realize how bad the product is for yourself. They nickel and dime you to death, and they don't tell you that Tri-State Financial is NOT a 3rd party lending arm, it's RUN OUT of the SAME OFFICE as Sundance.

It's all an elaborate network set up to confuse and deceive consumers from who they truly are. Signed up to win a car? Yep, that would be Dowd Marketing. Get a call about a cruise? Yep, that would be Dowd Marketing. Go into the sales presentation, yep that would be Sundance Vacations (owned by Dowd.) Take out a "loan" for your vacation package, yep, that would be Tristate, also owned by Dowd.

Like I said, they have their hands in your pockets from every angle you can think of, and in the end, you're stuck in a vacation club where you can ONLY go to the properties they have and the times they have available, at the mercy of all their additional fees and having to pay annual service fees. Meanwhile, all your friends are going wherever they want, finding far cheaper prices and don't have to pay any loan payments or annual membership fees - because they are just using the internet. The one place Sundance STAYS AWAY FROM. I wonder why?

I reported directly to the owner of TAN, trust me, this is just the tip of the iceberg of what these companies are really up to.

Please be very cautious of this company (Sundance Vacations)...it is a SCAM!!! To start off, they offer you this "free" trip which is all actuality is a bunch of ***.

I had to pay $198 upfront to confirm my certificate for the trip and once they finally sent me the link to make arrangements for my trip, the dates they GAVE where not acceptable. They wouldn't allow you to schedule your own dates for the trip which would correspond with your schedule. My other gripe is that I did unfortunately sign up for one of their vacation packages, which too turned out to be a scam. When you go into their site, the vacation locations available are places that I would never consider going for a vacation.

This company is so BOGUS! Now I am in a fight to get the contract terminated which they are giving me such a hard time to do. So now, not only am I stuck in this contract for $2000, but will probably have to pay for a lawyer as well.

Please...just stay away!!! :(

Everyone who fills out a sweepstakes entry is offered a free trip. This is a very old ploy-scheme.

Not to mention that they are selling your contact information from your sweepstakes entry.

So, you think you have won a free trip. Guess again. There are many hidden fees associated with this company.

There fees associated with the presentation-cruise and also with their time-shares that they advertise as vacation-packages. The Sundance company will sell unsuspecting folks vacation-packages comprised simply of "weeks" without any reservations at the time of sale. What does this mean to the consumer...

It means you have purchased an amount of time, with an expiration date, within a travel-network that may not have accommodations in the locations or time frames in which you wish to travel. There is a possibility that you will never use the majority of the "weeks" purchased with in the Sundance/TAN network.

As relates to the comment by Laura of Scranton, PA. it seems fishy!

This individual went to a high pressures sales presentation and somehow discovered all that inaccurate information about a former employee who is allegedly responsible for the creation of the Boycott page. All you have to do to realize that is read the Boycott page!

Laura, your information is inaccurate and absurd!

On my way to Indianapolis right now with my mom. For the hour presentation. We recently just got screwed by The Origin At Seahaven in Panama city Florida. They were supposed to refund our deposit of $268 and ended up taking over $500. Which they refuse to give back, even though we haven't went anywhere.

But we got the call from sundance over a month ago. We had such bad luck with panama we are just gonna go listen to their presentation and see what's up. Not really worried about buying vacation packages, my mom is really good at saying no.

But my question is, has anyone actually went on the cruise?? And how much money did you actually end up spending? Panama had a lot of hidden fees too and was very rude in telling us there was no way possible of knowing how much it will be until we check out.

Well most of you are pretty wrong. Its only ONE (1) HOUR.

I mean c'mon one hour for a cruise that you would have to pay $1000 for out of your own pocket.. I'd give them an hour again anyday. And do you know WHY there is a BOYCOTT SUNDANCE VACATIONS facebook..?? Because the person who made it was a worker at Sundance Vacations and got fired for lying to the customers.

Sundance wants nothing but honesty in their company.. she/he started giving the company complaints and giving us a bad name. He/she obviously has no life once-so-ever and had to throw their anger towards Sundance in some way. Sundance doesnt have timeshares..

I went through the presentation. Its great! I bought... because they were such good packages..

but you DONT HAVE TO BUY ANYTHING to get your cruise. I vacationed last summer in Maryland with a program they have called 'excess inventory' and only paid $200 for a gorgeous condo a block from the beach and boardwalk for 7days.

I love this company and I took my cruise and will continue to travel with them. Whoever doesn't go in the office for their cruise is just flat out dumb.

We recently went to the hour presentation and also bought the cheapest packages with the unlimited excess inventory options! Absolutly love it!!

Was a good investment. We barely vacation so we only got the 9 vacations that don't expire and we can use them whenever! :) they were very nice to us! Didn't force us to buy anything and it was a overall good experience.

I can't wait to go on the cruise with my husband! Everyone saying bad reviews are crazy.

OK if thats so with the boycott page what about the other countless websites that come up before Sundances own website mind you that are filled with comments from disatisfied customers. Give me a break!

Cant tell you're a fan boy! 8)

I went there last night after receiving a phone call the night before to listen to their speil and get my free vacation. I left there with a super duper headache after I was almost railroaded into purchasing their vacation package by the moderator and 3 separate sales people.

They tried so hard to get me to buy that they kept coming back to lower the cost & tweak the package 5 times; the 5th time was when the woman was giving me the so-called "free" vacation voucher, which at this point I felt like I'd been thoroughly violated after receiving it. Vacations are not my priority. I am truly disappointed and will say to anyone who gets the call; don't do it. The free vacation is not worth it.

I've been to timeshare presentations before but this one is so obnoxious that they don't even try to be subtle they are hard core sales with the attitude of "I am going to get your money one way or another".

Again, don't go; don't even bother. It is not worth it.

hi has anyone experienced a positive cruise package from sun dance

I "won" the free cruise drawing from these people back in October. On their first call I made the mistake of saying I was busy but might be able to come in a few weeks to hear their pitch and pick up my voucher.

Its now end of january and they are still calling me, relentlessly, to try to get me to come in. It doesnt matter how many times I say I'm no longer interested, they keep calling. What does it take,do I have to be as rude as they are pushy? My recommendation -- dont give them the slightest opening.

Not for moment.

Don't even blink. Good luck.

I made an appointment tonight for Wednesday night. After reading everyone's post, not only will I cancel the appt., I will make sure PruCenter in NJ is aware of this.

Thanks, I never liked the idea of bunk beds, not even for my kids! "Courtney" should be ashamed of herself.
